Install and Activate

You will install the Lens for WordPress plugin, activate it, open its admin page, and confirm the site is ready to be connected to your TMXIO workspace.

  • WordPress admin access on the target site (Administrator role or higher)
  • Ability to install plugins from inside WordPress, or to upload a plugin zip
  • A TMXIO workspace you intend to connect this site to
  1. Sign in to WordPress admin on the site that should host the Lens widget.

  2. In the left sidebar, open Plugins → Add New.

  3. In the search box at the top right, search for TMXIO Lens. The plugin appears as Lens for WordPress (publisher: TMXIO).

  4. Click Install Now on the Lens for WordPress card. WordPress downloads and installs the plugin.

  5. When the button changes to Activate, click it to activate the plugin on the site.

  1. After activation, a Lens entry appears in the WordPress admin sidebar.

  2. Click Lens to open the plugin’s main settings page. This page is where you will manage:

    • Connection to TMXIO
    • Whether the widget is enabled
    • Audience (signed-in WordPress users vs all visitors)
    • Panel layout and theme
    • Sync status and recent errors
  3. Confirm the page loads without a fatal PHP error or a “plugin could not be activated” notice at the top.

  • The Lens admin page opens normally and does not show fatal PHP errors.
  • The plugin renders its widget and connection controls.
  • The site is ready to be connected to TMXIO — see Connect to TMXIO.

If WordPress reports The plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error, the most common cause is a PHP version below the supported minimum. Confirm your hosting plan’s PHP version and upgrade before retrying. If activation still fails, capture the exact error text and see Troubleshooting.
